Samsung Tizen and LG webOS
IPTV Player Setup for Samsung and LG Smart TVs
Samsung and LG televisions use different operating systems and stores. Confirm the TV model, region and app publisher before installation.
Identify your television
| Television | Typical platform | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Smart TV | Tizen on many current models | Samsung Apps on the television |
| LG Smart TV | webOS on many current models | LG Content Store on the television |
| TV with an external stick | Fire TV, Google TV, Roku or Apple TV | The external device’s own store |
Safe installation sequence
- Open the television’s native app store and search for the exact player name.
- Compare the publisher and support website. A similar icon is not enough.
- Check whether the developer lists your TV generation and country.
- Install the app and enter only credentials supplied by an authorized service.
- Save the playlist, allow the first data refresh to finish, and test a stream you are permitted to access.
If an app disappears from the store: do not download a random replacement package. Check the developer’s website and your TV manufacturer support site. Availability can change because of platform, region or developer decisions.
Troubleshooting
- Update the television firmware and the app before reinstalling.
- Verify available storage and restart the television fully, not just standby mode.
- Check the account URL and credentials on another supported player to separate app and service issues.
- Record the exact TV model, OS version, app version and error text when contacting support.
