Set Up PVR IPTV Simple Client in Current Kodi

Use the current Kodi release and its official PVR IPTV Simple Client. Do not follow instructions written specifically for obsolete Kodi 17 Krypton menus.

Install and configure

  1. Open Kodi and go to Add-ons → My add-ons → PVR clients.
  2. Select PVR IPTV Simple Client, install or enable it, and open its configuration.
  3. Choose a remote URL or local path for an authorized M3U playlist.
  4. If supplied, add the matching XMLTV EPG URL in the EPG settings.
  5. Save the settings and restart Kodi when prompted so the PVR manager can reload.

Empty channels or guide

  • Confirm whether the playlist URL is still active and has not been altered.
  • Check Kodi’s event log for a specific connection or parsing error.
  • Clear PVR data only after recording the current settings.
  • An empty EPG can be a separate XMLTV problem even when playback works.
  • Do not post the playlist or EPG URL publicly; it may contain account credentials.
